Owner and creator of Conquer the Dragon.
MY MISSION
After working over 25 years with adults in the field of active rehabilitation and alternative health, ( see bio). I made a definitive choice of giving my time to educate, to inspire , and motivate youth with disabilities. I have been teaching Conquer the Dragon program for kids with disabilities in Vancouver since 2004. My program has been designed to help youth who are experiencing behavioral and cognitive problems. My clientele is characterized by youth who have been unsuccessful in the mainstream educational system, and come to me looking for an alternative program to meet their needs. For the past 16 years, I have provided a unique program for my students all over Vancouver, in Public and private schools, that has had a notable positive impact on their self-esteem, emotional self regulation, and ability to focus. The change in the students under my guidance has been remarkable and many of them have used these new found skills and attributes to enable them to transition successfully back into the regular school system. During the recent years I have developed a very strong professional network,, in order to increase my credibility and my reputation in the field of special Education.
MY VISION
To establish a strong connection with the education system for kids with special needs and mental health organizations for youth, in order to target a clientele truly interested in overcoming their learning and emotional challenges, Second of all, CONQUER THE DRAGON would like to educate professionals, through workshops and seminars, about the benefits of CTD programs. Education is crucial in order to help youth to reach their goals, therefore CTD plans to be a part of the school curriculum (as an elective). CONQUER THE DRAGON wants to provide enough education to its participants, in order to give them the chances to be progressively in charge of their own life. How much knowledge is used in the youth’s daily life is a primary objective of this program.
Last but not least, CONQUER THE DRAGON plans to ultimately serve its students in more in depth in a institution called THE ACADEMY OF MOVEMENT FOR YOUTH, where other aspects of an alternative vision of education will be offered , such as the Orthon-Gillingham method, Music, and Art therapy, Tactile therapy, Neurofeedback.
